Multi-Task: Simultaneous Open of Two QB files
Here are two scenarios to increase your productivity.
Work on Client File While Time Tracking - Everyone needs help keeping track of billable time. Here’s the fix. Open your QB file, fire up the Timer. Log into your client’s file and get to work. As you finish your task, close the timer and document your activities within the timesheet. Even if you don’t need to invoice your clients for time, this will give you a reliable record of work performed on their behalf. You won’t have to constantly open/close/open QB files.
Due To/From Accounts in Two Separate QB Files - Yes, related entities are an ordeal to reconcile. Intercompany transactions are easier to research if you have both files open. Use copy and paste to facilitate posting. However, there are a few restrictions that apply to opening two books simultaneously. See the full list of impacts here.
